1. A Supervised Learning Model
•QuizOwl is designed for parent- and school-supervised learning — not open social use.
•There is no public chat, no child-to-child messaging, and no anonymous posting anywhere in the app.
•General accounts are created by a parent/guardian. School accounts (student, teacher, principal) are created only by the school administrator.
2. What Children Can and Cannot Do
•Children can attempt quizzes, games, spoken English lessons, and AI learning activities — all pre-built by QuizOwl.
•Children cannot post public content, message other students, or share personal information with other users.
•Leaderboards and missions show only names/avatars chosen at signup — never contact details.
3. Child Data Protection
•We collect only what is required to run the learning experience: name/nickname, age or class, and learning activity (scores, progress, streaks).
•We never sell children's data or use it for targeted advertising.
•Parents and schools can request deletion of a child's account and data at any time — see our Account Deletion page.
4. AI Safety Summary
•AI activities in QuizOwl are built from a fixed, educational script — children are guided through structured lessons rather than open-ended chat.
•AI responses are limited to learning topics and are not permitted to request personal details (address, phone, school ID, passwords) from a child.
•Every AI activity includes a report/flag option so a parent, teacher, or older student can report unsafe, incorrect, or confusing content for review.
•A visible reminder appears in AI sections: "AI can make mistakes. Ask a parent or teacher if you are unsure."
5. School Data Isolation
•Each school's data is kept separate — one school can never see another school's students, teachers, or reports.
•Teachers see only the classes/subjects assigned to them; principals see only their own school; students and parents see only their own progress.
6. Reporting a Concern
•If you ever see content or behaviour in QuizOwl that feels unsafe or inappropriate for a child, please contact us immediately at connect@quizowl.in.
•We review every report and take action, including removing content or restricting access where necessary.
7. Microphone & Recorded Audio
•The microphone is requested only the first time a child taps "Start Speaking" in a Spoken English lesson — never during install or at app launch.
•Recording happens only while the app is visible and the child has intentionally tapped the microphone button; QuizOwl never records in the background.
•A clear red/animated indicator is shown while recording, and it stops automatically after the sentence.
•Raw recordings are not kept by default — only the pronunciation score is saved. Audio is never combined with advertising identifiers or used for personal profiling.
•Pronunciation analysis uses Base44 native transcription. There is no third-party speech provider, and analytics are disabled during active recording.
•Parents can delete a child's pronunciation history at any time. The app fully functions even if microphone permission or notifications are denied.
